मैं ने कब चाहा था रुस्वाई के सामाँ हो गए

हरीम-ए-का'बः बना दी वो सर-ज़मीं मैं ने

अल्लाह रे बे-ख़ुदी ख़बर दो-जहाँ नहीं

उस की तलाश है मुझे रह-गुज़र-ए-मजाज़ में

ये भी नज़र का धोका है या कार-ए-नज़र है क्या मा'लूम

दिलों में आग भरी है ग़म-ए-निहानी की

ज़िंदगी क्या है जो दिल हो तिश्ना-ए-ज़ौक़-ए-फ़ना

जुनूँ ने फ़ास्ला रखा न कोई इ'श्क़-ओ-इ’रफ़ाँ में

इक बसीत-ए-एहसास इक शौक़-ए-नुमायाँ चाहिए
